Hi Stacie,
I would really love to win, win, win this scholarship! I am really inspired by work and success. I am a beginning entrepreneur looking to create a niche in publishing for friends of the bride. Trueblu is focused on providing the brides friends with informative and visual editorial content on planning, fashion, bridal showers, and bachelorette parties. I am a mother of 3 young bubbly daughters all under 4 and am working a full-time job. I want to build a sustainable brand also while being a role model to my daughters. This would be a great opportunity for me to meet and network with seasoned professionals. Thank you for providing this scholarship opportunity for entrepreneurs.
Regards,
Rosie Prospere
Hey, my name is Angela. I am an event planner in the Durham, NC area. I would really love to be a part of this learning opportunity. I am very eager to learn from the wonderful speakers that you have chosen. I hope to gain the right tools to grow my business. For financial reasons, I am unable to attend. This scholarship would be a blessing. Thank you in advance!!!!
Solitary Pearl is a wedding dress design company based in Ohio. As the owner and designer, I am soaking in all and any education and networking in the industry. This conference would be a great concentrated dose of everything bridal! We’re in the midst of preparing to debut in stores in fall so information like branding and getting the news out there in print is something I desparately need.
As a company, we use only ethically sourced materials and labor (think fair trade/organic, Made in the USA, etc), and the products are all handmade in Ohio. We volunteer with local teen mothers and we’re working on a program to provide them a job with child care on the premises and vocational training in sewing so they have a career to support themselves. Traveling to the conference would also let me be in the area to meet a few of our fabric suppliers located right in NC! The more people I meet and the more information I have, the faster I can make all of this become a reality. This scholarship is such a great opportunity!
I would consider myself very fortunate to receive a scholarship to attend the iss convention. I am so passionate about my work, which is floral and event design. I really love every aspect of it and I can not believe that I continue to learn new things everyday. I feel like I could learn a great deal from the people speaking at the seminar. They are at they very top of their game and I would absolutely love to learn what they have to teach.
My mother introduced my into this business about 10 years ago and we have continued to work together in the field. I can not tell you how I value the time we have spent together and I look forward to working together in the future. I have tried to further my education as much as possible, but we live in Eastern NC and there are limited opportunities. I feel like the seminar would truly help us further our education, but as other people have left in their comments, due to financial reasons, it is not an option for us at the moment. Thank you very much for the consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Before I was a wedding professional, I was a bride. As a bride I had high regards for a wedding professional and their profession. After a horrible wedding experience of being forced to finalize my wedding plans with out professional guidance due to my wedding planner disappearing with my hard earned money and no budget left to hire another planner/coordinator.
With that being said, 6 months after my wedding I decided to continue the research and become a wedding professional that brides could trust, depend upon and develop a relationship with. The unfortunate experience has allowed me see behind the eyes of a bride from a professional aspect.
Being a member of ABC, former President of the NAWP, Charlotte, NC Chapter and upcoming member of ISES, has helped me develop and grow as a seasoned wedding professional.
To receive the opportunity of winning this scholarship would be phenomenal! To be able to add the inspire smart success experience to my scholastic profile with the esteem panel is just icing on the cake.
I love people and I love being able to take the knowledge I have to create a memorable experience for my bride while branding my business and services for my target market.
At the end of the day the hard work and sacrifices we make to educate ourselves to offer a great product or service for pay, the best reward is a memorable experience that is cherished for a life time. Anxiously awaiting your response….
At my best,
Pamela
To be a part of the first ISSE meeting would be phenomenal. It would be thrilling to be in that room with such knowledge and powerful leaders in our wedding industry. I can feel the energy and enthusiasm for the event already in North Carolina. Everyone is a buzz about the first ISSE meeting!
In our industry, more than most industries, we have to learn from the school of hard knocks. There is not a degree program and then using that degree as a platform to break into the industry. You have to work at it, learn from the best, research and a lot of on the job training! In the 10 years I’ve been in the business, I have learned a lot through trial and error. However, I continue to seek out ways to expand my knowledge of weddings and events. And why reinvent the wheel? Let’s learn from others, their mistakes and successes!
To me, this would be the opportunity of a lifetime. How many times do you see this level of talent in one room? NEVER! I’d love to be a part of this exciting opportunity!
I have to ask to withdraw my application for the scholarship. Some scheduling issues have come up that would make it impossible for me to get down to NC for those dates. Thank you though, and good luck to everyone else! I hope you have a great conference!
Christen, please don’t hesitate to reapply for other cities ISSE will be going to this year.
Have a great day and inspire someone along the way!

Hello my name is Shaunda. I’m a graduate of Winston Salem State University with a BS degree in Management Information Systems and a post graduate of Gardner Webb University, where I obtained my MBA with a concentration in Management Information Systems. Technology was calling my name, however, my heart was longing for something else. I had this dream of starting my own business and doing something that I love “planning weddings & events” {per·se·ver·ance}. In 2005, E’MAGINE weddings & events was born; I took a leap of faith and landed flat on my face. In addition, I reached out to some well known planners in my city, receiving unsupportive and ineffective responses.
{per·se·ver·ance} In spite of the beginning, I continued to plan weddings and events for family and friends it’s what I call “getting my feet wet”. In 2009, I planned my first destination wedding in Jamaica and that’s when I desired to have this dream become full time {per·se·ver·ance}. With high hopes of pursuing my dreams, I became very ill resulting in a surgery for removal of a tumor. My illness delayed my dreams for several months.
{per·se·ver·ance} With the setbacks and interruptions, I decided the only way to get myself out there was to advertise in the wedding market, but only plan small events (doctors orders).
{per·se·ver·ance} As we move forward to the present, E’MAGINE is making a reputation in the wedding industry. The wedding industry is like technology it changes daily, I desire to know and learn from the best to be abreast in this industry. Having the opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge from this event would add to my own book of inspiration which becomes my testimony for the next dreamer {INSPIRE OTHERS}.
I thank you for this opportunity and consideration of E’MAGINE {me} as an agent for change and to know if I am granted this scholarship not only will it provide me with financial assistance but an added stepping stone of implementing my dream of a successful business.
Best Regards,
Shaunda E.
I firmly believe I should be granted the scholarship because I will definitely learn all that I can from the Inspire Smart Success North Carolina experience. More importantly, I will implement what I learn and truly participate in the ‘experience.’ It’s more than the information that will be shared to bring business to the next level but truly immersing myself in the networking and camaraderie shared with liked minded wedding professionals. What I learn will assist in being of service to others. I have a bigger vision that involves different cultures and the message that love is love, no matter who you are. This event would be a catalyst to helping me move forward towards my dream and I would be forever grateful and appreciative for this opportunity. Preston Bailey inspires me and the romantic events I want to create and share with the world is just the beginning. Thank you so much for allowing me to share this with you and providing the avenue to do so.
Warmly,
Larissa
Greetings,
My name is Kristin Cosby and I am an independent event & marketing professional located in Charlotte, North Carolina. I started building my business three years ago and your magazine has given me priceless information while navigating through this industry. It would truly be an honor to attend the ISSE North Carolina events next week as a recipient of this scholarship.
It is of great importance for me to never stop learning, surround myself with striving entrepreneurs, and use the knowledge I gain along the way to help others. If chosen, I would fully immerse myself in every aspect of this experience, engage with other participants, and have fun! It is such a remarkable opportunity to directly learn from accomplished individuals in the industry and I appreciate your willingness to offer this scholarship.
Wishing you much continued success and looking forward to attending your events in the future!
Thank you for your time,
Kristin Cosby
I think I deserve the scholarship because I have finally found my passion . I’ve worked in the wedding and event planning business for a few years now as an assistant, but have decided to branch out and open my own business. The decision to start an event planning business was due to life changing events that I have had to struggle with over the last 3 years, such as lost jobs, broken bones, surgeries and worst of all a miscarriage. I honestly believe that it was those hardships were the key ingredients that inspired me to do what I want to do. I like making people happy, because that makes me happy. Life is way to short to just settle. If you want something and have the passion and desire, then I say go for it! It is so ironic how it sometimes takes going through horrible experiences to see what is most important to you. I would love to go to this seminar and would appreciate the opportunity to win the scholarship.
