Today’s Wedding Entrepreneur Who Inspires is Amber Shader, who’s story I find so inspiring because she changed her entire career around in order to follow her passion – a very difficult and brave endeavor!
Amber Shader is currently a photographer in Delaware, but she hasn’t always been shooting pictures for a living. Though she had a love for photography from the time she was a young girl, Amber actually didn’t think she could make a decent living as a photographer, and instead got her MBA in Organizational Leadership and went to work in the corporate world. She got married, started a family, and worked her way up the corporate ladder to become the Vice President of Human Resources for a Fortune 100 company.
Then, everything changed. One of Amber’s coworkers was suddenly killed in a car accident, and during the eulogy, something struck Amber. “The light bulb moment for me was at her eulogy when people said how much she gave to the company,” says Amber. “It was then that I realized life was too short not to do something you love. It was the defining moment that inspired me to jump off the corporate ladder and take a leap of faith.”
Amber began her company Amber Shader Photography in 2010, and has worked charity events as a means of exposing her work and networking to promote her business while also giving back. Amber’s motto has become “Scatter Joy!” and we are happy to see Amber doing what brings her joy.
