For this week’s Wedding Entrepreneurs Who Inspire, I wanted to share the story of Photographer Andrea Langer of Andrea & Marcus Couture Wedding Photography who saw an under served market in the wedding industry and decided to do something about it!

Andrea was born in Germany and was living there 7 years ago when she decided to start a wedding photography business with her boyfriend Marcus. They realized that there were not many options in Germany at the time for couples wanting modern wedding photography, and by filling that void with their contemporary eye and style and Andrea’s design and fashion background, they were able to find success in the German wedding market with what they termed “couture wedding photography.” But, the pair loved the city of Zurich, Switzerland, so they decided to move to their dream city and start their business over from scratch! But this wouldn’t be the last big move by this adventurous couple.

Just 3 years after moving to Zurich {I see a trend here!}, they decided to move once more to their favorite city on the globe, New York City! Again they had to start their wedding photography business over again, but this time there was a bit more involved – it took Andrea a year and a half to prepare for the move and get all the necessary visas and documents in order to move to the USA, but she is now here and hasn’t gotten off to a good start in the Big Apple. As Andrea told me, her story “is about running businesses internationally, believing that you can make it anywhere and following your dreams.” And with her global experience, Andrea has marked herself as a go-to photographer to shoot weddings all over the world, has won several awards and has had her work published in print and online.

Andrea has certainly followed every one of her dreams as they have taken her across the globe, and I wish her much success here in the states!
